A jagged frame of mountains marks the horizon of a territory that still seems immersed in a time far from clamour and fashion, made up of hills and woods, in which small medieval villages, old farmhouses and chapels seem lost among the meadows. A stone’s throw from the glories of the Langhe and yet so different, in its somewhat shy, almost wild identity, the Monregalese Alta Langhe recalls refined tourism and lends itself to the search for authentic and never predictable experiences.
Mondovì, capital of what we call the Alta Langa, is a small architectural jewel lying on the hill, cradle of culture, lively, full of surprises and peculiarities.
From hot air balloons to square bowls, from baroque music to avant-garde circus, from ceramics to printing, to the best of children’s illustration, to paths through art, food and wine, hiking and sport, Mondovì is the ideal place to develop a contemporary art project as out of the ordinary as Landandart.
There is a natural connection with the village of Vicoforte, home to the famous Sanctuary and always a place of pilgrimage (some chapels are actually devotional stations of the cross). This connection allowed us to imagine a series of circuits where walking for art is closely connected to a history full of meanings and symbols. The intent to make the area known to the world is combined with the ambition to gradually expand the routes, pushing beyond the borders of the Piedmont.
